Dewan Mahmud, First Secretary (Commerce), Bangladesh High Commission, based in Ottawa, is focused on promotion, business & development, government and diplomacy. For the past four years, he’s maintained the high post of First Secretary and before that in Bangladesh he focused on Law and Human Rights, specifically pertaining to the Garment Industry with his published article, “Garments Industry: Where Women’s Life and Livelihood are at Stake”; published in WOMEN’S WALK (a Journal of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Project of Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association) December, 2000. Helping others and promoting his county are his priorities, he is an academic with a specific knowledge to Bangladesh, Canada, Law and the Apparel industry. He is ideal to represent Bangladesh in the discussion on the benefits of the Least Developed Countries Program and how those benefits are of value to Canadians.
