The apparel industry is ever-changing. Season by season as color palettes, trends, fabrications, and technologies evolve, so do the methods of sourcing, production, trade and more. That being said, as the industry progresses Apparel Textile Sourcing Miami will return to South Florida. Going into its second edition, ATS Miami will see growth in all aspects from the exhibit hall, conference and catwalk.
One of the new focuses of ATS Miami 2019 will be expanding our stable of exhibitors to include U.S manufacturers. ATS Miami wants to expand the sourcing opportunities we can offer our community of designers and retailers. South Florida has a long history as a US manufacturing hub and apparel capital in the United States. This was before globalization sent a majority of production overseas. Miami, boasts the second largest fashion week in the U.S and has a burgeoning fashion scene. This along with the return of ATS Miami, is priming the city to become the next fashion and manufacturing destination.
To further this effort, a new fabric and trim pavilion will be added to the show! This is intended to support the huge ecosystem of local designers, retailers and more. ATS Miami will provide the infrastructure to new sources of production, education and more for the apparel industry. In addition, Jason Prescott, CEO of JP Communications, ATS Miami producer and the man behind B2B trade platforms TopTenWholesale.com and Manufacturer.com stated that there will be a future announcement of special incentives for U.S. producers involved in the show. This will be a part of a USA producers and service providers pavilion.
This is an exciting evolution for the show and ATS Miami will be working with Enterprise Florida, trade.gov and other various trade associations in the U.S. to take this next step. To conclude Mr. Prescott emphasized,“We are here to support the infrastructure for sourcing and enterprises in the southwest U.S, particularly South Florida.”
Gateway to New Markets
Manufacturing and domestic sourcing will have a spotlight at ATS Miami, but so will the Americas. The event with further act as a “Gateway to the Americas” with heavy influence from Mexico, Columbia, El Salvador and Honduras. In fact, Jason Prescott confidently expressed that this is a not-to-be missed trade show for those seeking U.S. exports.
Our attendees and exhibitors are, “looking to meet new markets, customers and partners in international markets.” The signature matchmaking services at the event will aid in creating partnerships and connections between those within the industry.Nowhere else will you be able to find the chance to network with international apparel industry professionals and gain exposure to their products and services without international travel
Lights, Camera, FASHION
As with any Apparel Textile Sourcing show, it is not all work and no play. ATS Miami 2019 will be expanding educational conference from industry leaders. In 2018, workshops spanned topics from the changing retail landscape, global sourcing, fashion blogging and proper costing for an apparel line. In 2019, the topics will reflect the current focuses of the industry. There will be a large focus on sustainability as well as: the digitization of manufacturing, global consciousness, speed to market and efficiency of supply chains and more.
Of course, education will be paired with inspiration in the form of the ATS Miami fashion show! 2019 will see the show grow bigger and better. Cece Feinberg, will produce the show for the second year and the runway will showcase designs from apparel industry newcomers, established Miami designers such as Rene Ruiz and current local design students. The expansion of fashion degree programs in the Miami area illustrates the continued draw of new aspiring designers to the city and its flourishing apparel scene. We can’t wait to see what walks down that runway, and continued evolution of Miami as a fashion and manufacturing capital.
