Day One – ATSG, It’s all about sourcing the right suppliers

It was great to see all the attendees on the opening day of the ATSG (Apparel Textile Sourcing Germany) tradeshow at the Estrel Berlin – Hotel & Congress Center.

With exhibitors from around the world (China, Bangladesh, and India) showcasing the latest fashions and needs for European buyers.

Opening Ceremony

The show started off with a bang with the ATSG main partners, exhibitors, and VIP’s who graced the stage for the opening ceremonies and ribbon cutting.

A high-level delegate from China highlighted the importance of trade between China and the European Union.

VIP Experience

Following the Opening Ceremony and Awards, everyone moved to the VIP area for photo opportunities with dignitaries from around the world.

Video cameras and media were on hand for in-person interviews.

There was a constant buzz throughout the day on the main stage with presentations.

Jeff Streader

One of the opening presentations was with Jeff Streader highlighting “Global Sourcing – Where is the next China” Jeff started off by letting us know “That China has been crushing it for producing apparel, footwear, and accessories” with the best infrastructure in the East.

“The world has 7.6 billion people, the population of China is around 1.4 billion, and India is around 1.3 billion, those two countries represent almost a third of the world population.”

Jeff goes on to explore the importance of the GDP of Europe, the USA, and how quickly it is growing in China, doubling in the last five years. He highlights the importance of the emerging middle class in China and the growing economy.

Wilson Zhu

We had the pleasure of listening to Wilson Zhu presenting his talk “To be the disruptor or be disrupted”.

Discovering who is the disruptor. “The best definition of a disruptor is someone or something that changes the perception.”

Who is disrupted? “Retailers are the most disrupted industry today” with the highest amount of store closures in history.

The quality of exhibitors of the ATSG are some of the best in the world, the family of the ATS shows focuses on quality, not quantity.
