China’s Changing Role as a Front-runner in the Global Textile and Apparel Supply Chain

This panel will examine China as one of the original front-runners in international apparel sourcing and production. It is our great privilege to have joining us for this informative panel discussion Cao Jiachan, Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Textiles, Lu Shaye, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Canada, Wu Zhengping, Director General of the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, and moderating the panel, Clay Hickson from Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP).

This panel will cover some of the most pressing questions about the future of China’s apparel sector such as incentives for Canadian brands to continue basing production and sourcing in China,the competitive landscape over the next five years and beyond, advantages of further investment in sourcing, china’s commitment on free trade with Canada and the reality of Chinese reliability on quality control, infrastructure and logistics.
