Jody Steinhauer is the President and Founder of The Bargains Group, a national award-winning discount wholesale and promotional products company she founded thirty years ago to revolutionize the business landscape for good. As a Canadian female entrepreneur, everything she does is imbued with her mantra “giving back makes great business sense”. Jody is a tireless advocate for the homeless and founder of the 20-year-old charity, Engage and Change.
Its two annual initiatives, Project Winter Survival and Project Water, help thousands of homeless throughout Toronto and the surrounding area survive the extreme weather conditions while engaging individuals in group volunteering and active philanthropy. Inspired by the local impact her charity has made, Jody launched her new social enterprise, Kits for a Cause, in 2018. Jody has made it turn-key, fun and engaging for businesses from coast to coast, to engage their employees while solving local community services’ needs for day to day supplies. Her model of “brokering goodness” has worked with some of the top industry leaders in both the corporate and philanthropic spheres.
Mindful of the ever-changing landscape facing the non-profit sector, Jody constantly applies her entrepreneurial mindset to bridge the growing disparity between needs and available resources. Jody has been the esteemed recipient of several awards, including Business Leader of the Year Award, Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and most recently was recognized by Salvation Army CTV Toy Mountain with the Friendship Award this past holiday season. As a result of her passion, focus, and dedication, everyone she connects with receives the absolute maximum possible value, every time.
