Ralph Kamphöner heads the Brussels office and the international trade department of textile+mode, the voice of the German textile and fashion industry. From 2001 (when he joined Brussels) to 2017 he led the trade section of EuroCommerce, an EU-level association representing wholesale and retail. From 2013 to 2017 he was Vice-Chair of the European Services Forum (ESF).
Mr. Kamphöner has been active and successful in influencing EU trade policy related to antidumping, trade preferences, rules of origin, customs, services, and other topics. He played a major role in solving the so-called “bra-war” in 2005 when 80 million clothing items imported from China were blocked at the EU borders.
As a constant supporter of the WTO, he attended all Ministerial Conferences since 2003 and advocated actively for the conclusion of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement. Mr. Kamphöner is a German attorney-at-law (Düsseldorf) and works in German, English, French, and Italian.
