Preview of Smart Textiles by ATSC

Mark your calendars because June 14, 2017 the organizers of the upcoming Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada (ATSC) show are going to let you in on a little secret. On this date they will give a small preview of innovative textiles and technologies that will be showcased at the trade show in Toronto the week of August 21, 2017. It is reported that self-heating textiles, fitness-tracking and LED-equipped apparel, sensor-equipped socks and insoles are among the items to be revealed. In addition, many internationally-sourced textiles will make their debut at the trade show for the first time.

Increased in demand for a platform in which to source textiles is the driving force behind ATSC. Canadian-made apparel has becoming increasingly popular in recent years.  As a result, companies need other avenues to acquire raw materials for domestic production. Jason Prescott, CEO of JP Communications, North America’s leading publisher of B2B trade platforms TopTenWholesale.com and Manufacturer.com and organizer of ATSC stated,

“The participation of a rapidly-growing number of local and international exhibitors demonstrates confidence in the Canadian economy and the importance of the apparel and textile industry both in Toronto and nationally,”

The 2016 ATSC had 200 exhibitioners. This year, that number has risen to over 300 booths from companies around the globe. Even so, 25% of the participants will textile manufacturers from South Asian countries. There has never been a more exciting time for not only the Canadian apparel industry for also for the textile industry at large. As technology increases in all other aspects of life, textiles are a prime place for innovation. See the sneak preview June 14th 2017 and be a part of the action August 21st-23rd at the International Centre in Toronto.
