The Toronto Congress Centre-based event moves to November 7-9, 2022 to offset slow international visa processing into Canada
TORONTO, August 8, 2022 – Canada’s largest apparel and textile sourcing event, Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada, officially announced an update to their 2022 show dates, moving from August 22-24 to November 7-9, 2022. The additional 75 days provides the necessary extension of time for Canadian government offices worldwide to process all visa applications.
Delays in the current processing of travel visas into Canada is a widespread issue affecting all international travelers into Canada who require a visa. Business, personal, and student Canadian visa applicants are all being affected by delays.
The move to November 7-9 was finalized after consulting with Canadian & International governments, industry partners and exhibitors. “Our commitment is to bring the world’s apparel and textile sources back to Canada in 2022,” said Jason Prescott, CEO of JP Communications, INC, producers of ATSC. “150 factories, from at least 15 countries, with dozens of speakers, matchmaking and networking. The date needed to change to give the Canadian embassies worldwide more time, so we changed our date. We did what was best for the show, the factories and the attendees.”
Currently more than 3000 attendees are registered for August and are automatically re-registered for November 7-9. Countries exhibiting include Bangladesh, China, Ghana, India, Iran, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, South Korea, Vietnam, United States, Canada, and more.
Along with hundreds of international manufacturers products and exhibits, ATSC will feature it’s seminar series onsite with live sessions from the Canadian Apparel Federation, Brands for Canada, TESTEX, Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), V.mora, the Mongolian Wool & Cashmere Association, and more.
Bob Kirke, Executive Director Canadian Apparel Federation, said, “In a year when travel and trade shows are slowly coming back, ATSC found a way to bring the world of apparel & textiles back to Canada. I can’t wait to be part of it again. A great place to network and meet new global suppliers.”
ATSC had been sidelined from in-person events and providing virtual trade shows since 2020 due to COVID-19 international travel and in-person meeting restrictions. ATSC continues its virtual sourcing business model by offering integrated solutions with online platforms Manufacturer.com and TopTenWholesale.com
