In my experience traveling around the world, meeting brands and designers, it is not only in the fashion circuits but also in the commercial field due to my work as a fashion critic for major media outlets such as CNN and the most influential publishing titles in the industry.
As a brand consultant and celebrity fashion stylist I was able to see the great abyss that exists between designers, who are great creatives with great talent and commercial reality, since they focus most of their interest on creation and not on the business it must support, which is why in my recurring visits to said events fashion and the different countries and cities season after season I realized of the disappearance of many of them, I was overcome with a feeling of helplessness who saw the great potential and beyond that the socio-economic impact that they could generate these brands in their locations using fashion as an agent of economic change But this did not happen, but more and more I saw how the brands succumbed due to lack of of knowledge of the business, since fashion has a rhythm and a way of business very different from the rest of the industries. Business models are seen here unusual in reference to many industries, very long product shelf life ephemeral, very diverse distribution channels and production systems that are They can become complex and expensive if we do not know how to handle them. Then the challenge of convert a piece of clothing or skin cream, a shoe or any piece of jewelry in a product that can enter the standard to be marketed.
