Apparel Textile Sourcing MIAMI trade show is here! This morning the doors to swung open to the Mana Wynwood Convention doors for the inaugural show. We’ve got China in the house. Also, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, and Pakistan. Also, Mexico, South and Latin America have made their way to Miami. In fact, there’s many more and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have the halls packed with attendees. But, we had to start off the show with a little celebration.
Opening Ceremony
Today began with much pomp and circumstance, as an opening ceremony kicked off the trade show. The commencement began with 20 students from Liberty City’s Meyga Learning Center, a local underprivileged school. The students welcomed 17 delegates from the participating countries to the trade show with the one thing that could not be more fit for an event celebrating the relationships between nations- a flag ceremony.
The Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez was in attendance, as was Miami-Dade Commissioner Audrey Edmonson, andMiami-Dade Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz. In fact, Commissioners Edmonson and Diaz awarded a congratulatory certificate to Jason Prescott, CEO of the Apparel Textile Sourcing Show and Moishe Mana, CEO of Mana Wynwood, on behalf of the Miami-Dade Mayor’s office and the board of county commissioners.
But, there’s more to come! We still have until the 23rd at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center and that time will not be wasted. There’s still over 200 international and domestic manufacturing firms displaying apparel, textiles, fabric, fashion and accessories for the 3,500 registered attendees to meet. Next, the event du jour for tomorrow the 22nd is the fashion show which will showcase both local and international, established and emerging designers, and fashion students. Lastly, thoughout the entirety of the show, there will be seminars taking place that will discuss a variety of topics pertinent to the industry. So with that being said, let’s get ready for DAY 2!
